Rancilio Espresso Machine Repair

Rancilio has been building espresso machines in Parabiago, Italy since 1927. The Silvia put a commercial-grade brass group head on home countertops, and the Classe line runs behind bars across Greater Chicago. We repair every Rancilio model, residential and commercial.

Why the Brand Changes the Repair

Rancilio machines use brass group heads, three-way solenoid valves, and heat-exchanger or dual-boiler architectures that most general repair shops have never opened. The diagnostic route on a Silvia is completely different from a super-automatic, and the Classe commercial line adds plumbing, multi-group calibration, and rotary pump systems on top of that. We know both worlds.

Parts and Warranty

We use genuine OEM Rancilio parts wherever they are available. Italian-made components for Italian-engineered machines. The part number goes on your invoice either way. Every repair carries 30 days on our labor and up to one year on the parts we install.

Before You Book

Have the model name to hand — Silvia, Silvia Pro, Silvia Pro X, or the Classe number. On Rancilio home machines the model is printed on the rear panel. With the model confirmed, the correct gaskets, solenoid valves, and pump components travel with the technician.

Problems We See Most

Patterns from repeat Rancilio visits across home and commercial machines.

Solenoid Clogged
Three-way valve blocked with coffee oils. Portafilter drips, pucks come out soupy, pressure won't release.
Group Head Leaking
Gasket hardened after 12–18 months. Water drips around portafilter edge. Shower screen clogged with oils.
Steam Wand Dead
Calcium buildup in wand tip or boiler. Steam pressure drops to nothing. Common in hard-water areas.
Coffee Lukewarm
Heating element or thermostat failing. Boiler can't reach brewing temperature. Common after years of daily use.
Pump Weak or Dead
Vibration pump lost pressure. Shots trickle out thin. OPV may need adjustment to the 9-bar sweet spot.
Scale Buildup
No auto-descale program on the Silvia. Most owners go too long. Boiler, group head, and steam circuit all affected.

Rancilio Repair Questions

How much does Rancilio repair cost?
Solenoid cleaning $100–$200. Group head gasket and shower screen $100–$175. Boiler element replacement $200–$375. Pump replacement $150–$275. OPV adjustment $75–$150. You get the exact number before we start.
Is my Rancilio Silvia worth repairing?
Almost always. A $150 solenoid and gasket service on a $750 Silvia is a no-brainer. A $250 element on a $1,400 Silvia Pro? Still less than 20% of replacement. The brass boiler and commercial group head are designed to be rebuilt indefinitely.
What Rancilio models do you repair?
Every Rancilio for home or commercial. Silvia, Silvia Pro, Silvia Pro X (home). Classe 5, 7, 9, 11 (commercial). Egro line (super-auto commercial). Older models too. If it says Rancilio, we fix it.
Do you offer same-day Rancilio repair?
Yes. Call (224) 619-9677 before noon and we can usually have a technician to you the same day across Greater Chicago.
