Gaggia Espresso Machine Repair

Gaggia spans two worlds — the Classic Pro is a manual semi-automatic with a commercial-style group head, while the Anima and Babila are fully automatic bean-to-cup machines. Two completely different repair skill sets in one brand. We handle both across Greater Chicago.

Why the Brand Changes the Repair

Gaggia makes both semi-automatic machines (the Classic line) and super-automatics (Anima, Babila, Magenta). The Classic Pro has a commercial-style 58mm group head, three-way solenoid valve, and an aluminum boiler. The super-autos have removable brew groups, integrated grinders, and pannarello frothers. Two completely different diagnostic paths in one brand. We know both.

Parts and Warranty

We use genuine OEM Gaggia parts wherever they are available. Italian-made components for Italian machines. The part number goes on your invoice either way. Every repair carries 30 days on our labor and up to one year on the parts we install.

Before You Book

Tell us whether you have a Classic Pro (semi-automatic with a portafilter) or an Anima/Babila (super-automatic with a bean hopper). The repair approach is completely different, and knowing which type you have means the right parts are on the truck from the start.

Problems We See Most

Patterns from repeat Gaggia visits across both semi-auto and super-auto lines.

Solenoid Clogged
Three-way valve blocked with coffee oils on the Classic Pro. Portafilter drips, pucks come out soupy.
Group Head Leaking
Gasket hardened on Classic Pro. On Anima/Babila, brew group seals worn or rails need relubrication.
Pannarello Clogged
Dried milk blocking the pannarello sleeve, steam tip, or Babila milk carafe system. No foam output.
Coffee Lukewarm
Boiler or thermostat failing on Classic Pro. Thermoblock drifting on super-auto models.
OPV Set Too High
Classic Pro ships at 15 bars from the factory. Many owners want it adjusted to 9 bars for better extraction.
Brew Unit Jammed
Anima/Babila removable brew group stuck mid-cycle. Coffee oil buildup on infuser gaskets.

Gaggia Repair Questions

How much does Gaggia repair cost?
Solenoid cleaning $100–$200. Group head gasket and screen $100–$175. OPV adjustment $75–$150. Brew group rebuild (super-auto) $175–$300. Boiler element $200–$350. You get the exact number before we start.
Is my Gaggia worth repairing?
A $100 solenoid cleaning on a $500 Classic Pro is a no-brainer. A $200 brew group rebuild on an $800 Babila? Still worth it. If the repair exceeds half the replacement cost, we tell you. On Gaggia, repair almost always makes sense.
What Gaggia models do you repair?
Every Gaggia sold in the US. Classic, Classic Pro, Classic Evo Pro (semi-auto), plus Anima, Anima Prestige, Babila, Magenta, Cadorna, Accademia, and Brera (super-auto). Older models too. If it says Gaggia, we fix it.
Do you offer same-day Gaggia repair?
Yes. Call (224) 619-9677 before noon and we can usually have a technician to you the same day across Greater Chicago. OEM Gaggia parts ride on the truck.
